SmartCloud Agent Starter Troubleshooting

Canvas is incompatible

Install and activate Agent Canvas 1.0.4 or a later compatible 1.x release. Agent Starter does not support Canvas versions earlier than 1.0.4 or a future 2.x release unless the Starter release notes say otherwise.

An optional plugin is installed but inactive

Installing a plugin is not enough: WordPress must also show it as active. Activate the plugin, then reopen Starter's check screen. Renaming the plugin directory does not make an inactive plugin available.

Theme CSS cannot be updated

Update the active WP Suite plugins, then reload the Starter screen. Managed theme styling requires the shared WP Suite Hub functionality introduced in Hub 2.5.9. If the message remains, record the installed WP Suite plugin versions and include them in a support request.

Activation reports a conflict

The site changed after preview, or it already contains a customized header, footer, page address, navigation item, or an item managed by another plugin. Review the reported item and create a new check and preview. Starter stops rather than silently overwriting the newer or separately managed content.

A Foundation or governance proposal was created for an older site state

The destination changed after the snapshot used to create the proposal. If F1 has already been activated, the content-governance pass must use a fresh B1 kit; it cannot reuse the pre-Foundation B0 snapshot. Download a new kit, create a fresh proposal, and review the new list of changes. See Foundation and content governance.

The governance package was imported but Composer still uses the old rules

Activating C1 in Starter imports its Composer configuration as an inactive draft. Open SmartCloud > Agent Composer, inspect and validate the imported Config Set, then activate it explicitly. Starter activation and Composer Config Set activation are separate safety decisions. See There are two different activations.

Rollback stops

An imported item was edited after Starter created it, or Starter can no longer confirm that it is safe to remove. Normal rollback stops to preserve those later edits. Inspect the reported item and either keep it or restore it manually. Use destructive recovery only after reviewing the change and accepting that the later edit will be lost.

Static live preview limitations

A ThemeForest preview may be served as a static export. Forms, search, authentication, account state, and AI-backed interactions must either work against an intentional public service or be clearly presented as non-interactive demonstrations. A public WordPress admin is not required.
